The best way to discover aikido is to step onto the mat. Newcomers are welcome at any time during the season.
The aikido seminars and traditional Japanese arts workshops are open to all levels of practitioners and newcomers. Only the master classes require an appropriate level.
TOMITA Seiji SHIHAN, 8th Dan
Tomita Seiji shihan is a Japanese master who had the privilege of studying under the guidance of the founder of Aikido, Osensei Ueshiba Morihei, in Osaka, at the dojo of Master Tanaka Bansen, where secret skills were taught.
He was also able to learn another dimension from Master Tohei Koichi (founder of the Ki Society) and Master Saito Morihiro (Iwama) to reach the very essence of budo. All three are distinguished students of the Founder.
Following the Silk Road, Master TOMITA arrived at the present end-point of western culture, Brussels, and established the Ban Sen Juku School there in 1988.
Practising with the sword as a symbolic weapon is an essential aspect of Ban Sen Juku Aikido training, even in its weaponless forms. The application of this art — instantly drawing the sword to achieve victory in a single movement — within Ban Sen Juku Aikido is called aiki-iai.
